AN EVENING OF MUSIC AND DANCE IN MOJÁCAR

Students of the Mojácar Music School staged a Christmas concert in the town’s Centro de Usos Múltiples.

42 students, aged between 3 and 7 played Christmas carols, under the guidance of their teacher Yolanda Parra, who every year, offers a small concert at this time of year.

Nine guitar students, aged between 11 and 70, also offered the public a moving Christmas repertoire under the direction of Pedro Clemente.

The finale of the evening was a performance by the seventy members of the Mojácar Town Band, mostly made up of children and youngsters.  Its director, Miguel Angel Miranda, put the finishing touch to a musical evening that concluded the year's activities with chocolate and Christmas sweets for everyone present.

A nice touch at the end of the day and worthy of special mention was the Mojácar handicraft workshop, which took the opportunity to present the pieces made by students with recycled materials such as old CD’s, tuna cans, pins and tiles.

On Friday 18 December, also at Mojácar’s Centro de Usos Múltiples, it was the turn of the local dancers.  The dance schools including Nicky Mainston’s Prodanza, the School of Modern Dance "La Ültima Fusión” and Martina’s Dance School, all put on a show.

There was a selection of Tap and Modern Dance performed by the Prodanza Dance School. For the more adventurous there was Funky, Hip-Hop Street Dance with "La Ültima Fusión” and finally, Classical Spanish Dance with Martina’s dancers who, having attended international competitions performed on their home ground of Mojácar on this occasion.
