Thanks to the collaboration of the Almería Provincial Council and the Andalucían Theatre Network, this year's programme not only offered variety and artistic quality but also reinforced Mojácar's cultural profile in the province.
The season began on the 24th of October with El Buscón, an opening that gave an indication of what would be an extraordinary month: an enthusiastic, expectant audience ready to enjoy the best theatre. A week later, on the 7th of November, El Eunuco filled the Multi-Uses Centre with laughter, establishing Fridays as an unmissable date for fans of the performing arts.
On the 14th of November, the original Desmetamorfosis offered a fresh and surprising proposal that once again filled the theatre to capacity, while on the 21st of November, the play La Encrucijada continued along the same line of success with an intense and highly applauded production. Finally, the cycle concluded on the 28th of November with Dos Gardenias, a performance filled with emotion that rounded off an edition marked by citizen participation and a vibrant atmosphere at every show.
This programme also included a very special offering: the comedy ¡Que viene mi marido!, presented by the Al Alba Teatro group. Performed on the 15th of November, this play by Carlos Arniches - filled with classic Spanish humour - offered the audience a unique and charitable evening, as all proceeds went to the Mojácar Senior Citizens Association. An initiative that, in addition to its cultural component, reinforced the municipality’s community spirit.
Culture Councillor, Noemí Linares, highlighted the importance of this community response: “We have had a fantastic month. Seeing how locals fill the Multi-Uses Centre every week is proof that Mojácar values and protects its culture. This cycle has been an example of unity between institutions, companies, and the public, and we will continue working to ensure that theatre continues to grow in our municipality.”
The Mayor of Mojácar, Francisco García, underlined the social and cultural impact of the programme: “We are not only talking about artistic success, we are talking about community. Every performance has brought together families, young people, and senior citizens. This shows that theatre has a fundamental place in the life of Mojácar. We are very proud of the huge participation and we will continue to support initiatives that further enrich our cultural offer.”
With this season concluded, Mojácar Council reaffirms its commitment to the performing arts and is already working on future initiatives to keep this cultural momentum going, which this year has reached extraordinary levels.
