Mojácar has once again shown why it is considered a true Ferrero Rocher Village, bringing together in a single day thousands of people, who enjoyed a magical and unforgettable experience. From early morning, the municipality registered an extraordinary turnout of visitors for Disney Day, with more than 5,000 people turning the streets of the old town into a vast enchanted world full of fantasy, characters, and workshops.
The excitement continued in the afternoon with the acclaimed Disney Concert performed by the Mojácar Municipal Music Band, conducted by Miguel Ángel Miranda, whose performance was applauded by the audience. This was followed by the most eagerly anticipated moment: the Official Switching-On of the Christmas Lights, which attracted more than 7,000 people, once again surpassing all previous attendance figures.
The Mayor of Mojácar, Francisco García, highlighted the extraordinary public response and the pride of the entire municipality: “We have experienced a truly magical day. In the morning, thousands of families filled our streets to enjoy Disney Day, and in the afternoon, more than 7,000 people gathered here to celebrate the beginning of Christmas. Every year we outdo ourselves, and every year Mojácar shines brighter. We are a Ferrero Rocher Village, and today we have shown that our light and our energy are unique.”
The Mayor also added: “I want to thank all the municipal workers, volunteers, visitors, and residents for making such a special day possible. Mojácar is a Christmas reference point in the province, and we continue working to ensure every activity is unforgettable.”
The switch-on marks the beginning of the 2025 Christmas Programme, full of novelties and traditional activities eagerly anticipated by residents and visitors alike. Among the most notable events are:
- 20th of December – Inauguration of the Christmas Market in Mojácar Pueblo.
- 21st of December – Christmas Flamenco Zambomba, one of the most moving and festive events.
- 27th of December – “Chanqueños pa Belén” Zambomba, a must-see event on the Christmas calendar.
- Days of Disney Character Days going around Mojácar – (specific dates to be confirmed by the organisers).
- 31st of December – Traditional Children's New Year's Eve, now firmly established as one of families' favourite celebrations.
- 5th of January – Three Kings Parade, one of the most special moments for the children.
And many other activities, workshops, concerts, and surprises, which will take place up to the 6th of January.
With this historic event, Mojácar reaffirms its position as one of the Andalucía’s most special Christmas destinations, combining tradition, magic, light and a unique atmosphere.
