Mojácar Council continues to strengthen its commitment to balancing personal, family, and working life through the consolidation of its Municipal Play Centre, a space designed to provide families with an educational and recreational support service that fosters child development in a safe and fun environment.

Since its launch, the Municipal Play Centre has become a benchmark for families in the municipality, offering a place where children can learn, play and share experiences under the supervision of specialised staff.

Up to the 30th of September 2025, this service was funded through the Co-Responsible Plan, an initiative promoted by the Ministry for Equality, in collaboration with the Junta de Andalucía’s Regional Ministry for Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality and the Almería Provincial Council’s Equality Department. This programme aims to promote shared responsibility in caregiving and facilitate the balance between family, personal and working life.

From the 1st of October 2025, the Municipal Play Centre will continue its activities thanks to the corresponding grant from the Personal, Family and Working Life Balance programme, awarded by the Junta de Andalucía’s Regional Ministry of Employment, Training, and Self-Employment. This new funding guarantees the continuity of the service and reinforces the municipal commitment to policies supporting childhood, equality and work-life balance.

Education Councillor, Noemí Linares, underlined the importance of maintaining and strengthening this municipal service: “The Mojácar Play Centre has established itself as a very valuable resource for families. Thanks to this support we can continue offering an educational and leisure space where children learn, socialise and enjoy themselves, while their parents can better balance their work and personal lives.”

The Mojácar Mayor, Francisco García Cerdá, highlighted the importance of institutional collaboration in developing these kinds of initiatives: "The continuity of the Play Centre is the result of joint work between administrations and the Local Council's commitment to our families. We will continue to promote policies that promote equal opportunities and which make Mojácar an increasingly family-friendly, inclusive, and educationally committed municipality."

The Council issues a reminder that the Municipal Play Centre remains open to all interested families, with available spaces and activities adapted to different ages.

With this new phase, Mojácar reaffirms its commitment to family well-being and to a municipal model that supports education, equality and work-life balance.
