Mojácar Council continues to push forward on its strategy of promoting sports tourism with the installation of Bike Territory signage at five establishments in the municipality, an initiative that raises awareness about the certification granted by the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation (RFEC) and solidifies the status of Mojácar as a destination well-suited for cycling enthusiasts.
The certification signs can now be found at The Peloton Café, Hotel El Puntazo, Best Oasis Tropical, Hotel Servigroup Marina Playa, and Bar San Pedro, establishments that form part of the network of service providers affiliated with the project and that offer amenities tailored to the needs of cyclists.
The installation of this signage represents a new step in establishing Mojácar as a Bike Territory destination, a distinction that recognises municipalities which have routes, infrastructure, specialised services and resources that support cycling throughout the year.
In conjunction with this initiative, Mojácar is also making a dedicated webpage available to residents and visitors on the Bike Territory platform, where users can access all the information related to the destination: routes, accommodation, collaborating establishments, services for cyclists, and other resources of interest
The website can be accessed at https://biketerritory.com/index.php/es/mojacar.
Mojácar’s commitment to cycle tourism will also be further strengthened with the staging of the 7th Škoda Titan Desert Almería, which will take place from the 1st to 4th of October, 2026, and which, for the first time, will establish Mojácar as the main host of the event. The municipality will be one of the main protagonists of this international sports event, which will bring together hundreds of cyclists and teams from different countries.
Hosting the Titan Desert Almería represents an opportunity to further promote Mojácar’s image as an ideal year-round cycling destination, thanks to its climate, the diversity of its routes, and an increasingly more specialised tourism offer. The Bike Territory certification, the network of affiliated establishments, and the arrival of top-level competitions are all part of the same strategy to firmly establish the municipality as a benchmark for sports tourism.
Through initiatives like this, the Local Council reaffirms its commitment to a sustainable, active, and non-seasonal tourism model, promoting the diversification of the tourism offer and creating new opportunities for the local business community.
