Mojácar Council has opened a new children’s playground and rest area next to the municipality's Parque Comercial Commercial Centre, a project that represents a significant step forward in improving public spaces and revitalising this strategic area.
The new space has been designed as a gathering point for residents and visitors, incorporating play areas for young children, pathways, and rest areas with benches. It also features shaded areas in both the children's play area and the rest areas, meaning it can be enjoyed at any time of day, especially during the months with the highest temperatures.
This action not only addresses the need to continue creating quality spaces for residents, but also has a direct impact on the area’s local business community. Its location next to the Parque Comercial helps generate higher numbers of visitors, boosts economic activity, and reinforces the role of local businesses as a key driving force for the municipality.
During the official visit, the governing team was accompanied by the president of the Parque Comercial Traders Association, with whom they were able to see the results of the project and share their thoughts on the opportunities this new space creates for the sector.
The Mayor of Mojácar, Francisco García Cerdá, emphasized the value of this type of project: “With initiatives like this, we continue to move forward with a model of municipality that looks after its families and supports its local businesses. This new playground and rest area not only improves our residents’ quality of life, but also contributes to creating more attractive surroundings that foster economic activity and social interaction.”
The Mayor also highlighted that “investing in this type of infrastructure means backing a more dynamic, more liveable Mojácar, and with more opportunities, where the public space becomes a point of connection between the daily lives of our residents and the activity of our businesses.”
With this initiative, Mojácar Council reaffirms its commitment to sustainable urban development, the continuous improvement of services and the creation of spaces that promote coexistence, well-being and the economic growth of the municipality.
