Mojácar improves its rural network with a historic investment and the support of the Almería Provincial Council

Mojácar Council has completed a major improvement and conditioning project on rural roads, promoted by the Almería Provincial Council. This initiative represents a firm step forward in the municipal government's commitment to rural development, territorial structuring and the improvement of the quality of life in dispersed settlements.

In total, 13 rural roads have been improved, strategically spread out around different areas of the municipality:

  • Agua Enmedio – Alcandía Road

  • Macenas - Torre Pirulico – Sombrerico Road

  • Estrecho - El Jací Road

  • Jací – Aljuézar Road

  • Las Barranqueras Road

  • Alfaix - El Albar Road

  • El Descargador Road

  • Bajo de Los Mingranos Road

  • Alto de Los Mingranos Road

  • Quinto to Alcantarilla Road

  • Orihuela Road

  • La Alcantarilla Road

  • Mícar to Vera Road

These actions represent a key investment for guaranteeing road safety, connectivity and decent access to numerous farms, rural homes and natural enclaves.

The Mayor of Mojácar, Francisco García Cerdá, has rated this action as an example of the municipal management model being implemented: "We're not just talking about paving roads; we're talking about responding to the needs of residents living in rural areas, promoting equality between urban centres and outlying settlements, and looking to the future with policies that retain population and dignify our environment. Thanks to the support of the Almería Provincial Council, today we can say that Mojácar is a more connected, more accessible municipality and with more opportunities for everyone."

Public Works Councillors, Jesús Montoya Gredilla, underlined the technical and strategic nature of this intervention: "It's not a one-off action; it's part of a serious, medium- and long-term plan which aims to improve rural infrastructure based on objective criteria."

Mojácar Council will continue working on new phases of this plan, with its sights set on expanding the network of improved rural roads and responding to residents' demands with responsibility, efficiency and institutional collaboration.
